Dr Patricia Ramirez Berglund DAOM, Serendipitea’s Herbalist and Doctor of Traditional Oriental Medicine

Patricia holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New York in the United States. She is currently in private practice in Stockholm, Sweden. A native New Yorker, Patricia has always been interested in East Asian Arts and Philosophy. She has been a Chan Buddhist practitioner for over 15 years.

As a Eastern and Western herbalist, Patricia specializes in the treatment of skin conditions and autoimmune diseases. After working for the Initiative for Women (IWD) at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City (2010), she became particularly interested in and focused on women's health issues. Patricia believes that by educating her patients about lifestyle modification, functional nutrition, the use of herbs as medicine, and Yang Sheng (nourishing life) practices, her patients may become equal contributors on their journey to wellness. Her passion is to empower people to health and wellness through the treatment and integration of mind/body/spirit. Wanting to share her knowledge with women all around the world, she was motivated to co-found Serendipitea.

Dr Linda Lanyon PhD, Serendipitea’s Neuroscientist and Coach

Linda is a PhD neuroscientist, experienced international communicator, leader and expert in networking and community building. Her 33-year international career has spanned government, academic, non-profit and private sectors, and included 2 career pivots. With over 20 years’ experience managing diverse projects and multicultural teams, she believes empathy is the vital characteristic needed in leadership and within teams.

Linda was inspired to co-found Serendipitea after personal experience of many of the life stages Serendipitea supports. She noticed a lack of awareness of the issues involved and need for better medical and wellness support for women, particularly for expatriates and others who lack support ecosystems. She believes in empowering women to reach their potential, particularly at times of change in career, location or other pivot. She aims to help clients find confidence, positivity and their authentic direction. As an expert in the neuroscience of attention, she also helps clients simplify their environments for mental clarity and productivity.

During her PhD in computational neuroscience in the UK, Linda developed a computation model of visual attention that explains brain processes in healthy people and those with disease. She conducted postdoctoral research in Canada at a clinical laboratory where she was able to work more closely with patients, and combine computational modelling with eye movement tracking and MRI neuroimaging to examine brain connectivity and neural processes. She moved to Sweden in 2011, and became Executive Director of the leading international neuroinformatics organisation, INCF, helping to bring together scientists around the world to develop common solutions to advance brain research.

After an 18-year career in government informatics (1988-2006), and 20 years in neuroscience (1999-2020), Linda moved into entrepreneurship in 2020, and co-founded Serendipitea, fulfilling a long-held ambition to create a tea company with a difference. In addition to her devotion to tea drinking, she has a lifelong passion for gender equality and the elevation of women in the workforce and society. She is a former Director of the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology.
